Our times together on a Sunday morning are all about these three words:
Worshipping Jesus together
To help us do this, our time together will include prayers, Bible reading, preaching, singing, time to catch up with each other and, every couple of weeks, the sharing of the Lord’s Supper together. We aim to do all this in a relaxed yet serious atmosphere. Knowing and following Jesus is a wonderfully purposeful thing which we want to reflect in all that we do: whether it be singing ancient hymns and also contemporary songs, saying together historic creeds, listening to a meaty and biblical sermon or hearing the children telling us what they’ve been up to that morning in Sunday School.
Sometimes people are understandably nervous about coming along to a church gathering for the first time. We aim to be welcoming without being overwhelming and try to make our services as easy to follow as possible. Approximately every two weeks, many of us stay after the service to enjoy a meal together and we’ve found this to be really important church family time together.
Our church family includes the very young and the more mature, with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Most of the people with us on a Sunday morning are already Christians but it is normal for people who are looking into Christian things to be with us on a Sunday too. We also have special groups for children on Sunday mornings – more details can be found here. Some people in our church family like to dress up smartly, for others it’s shorts and t-shirt (when the weather allows)!
The formal part of our time together usually lasts around an hour and a quarter but many people stay afterwards for a tea or coffee, or some lunch on the appropriate weeks.
